Fila is a leading manufacturer of footwear and apparel for sport and leisure that has developed excellent brand recognition by marketing products with a high design and style content that are endorsed by professional athletes from around the world. 

Fila currently has an opportunity for a Footwear Purchasing Manager in our Sparks, Maryland location.  This position will be reporting to the Sr. Vice President of Supply Chain Management.  The manager will be responsible for overseeing the Footwear Purchasing Operations.  

The position responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Oversee timely entry of each season’s Style Masters ensuring all required attributes are assigned (i.e. royalty codes).  Ensure season is “open” in system for sales bookings in a timely manner
* Instruct Purchasing team on procedural functions and ensure day to day operations of purchasing functions are performed according to company standards
* Manage, with coordinators, large booking orders and determine how orders should be booked (in-line or direct order)
* Oversee Purchase Order placement and requests for ship date improvements to ensure timely delivery based on required lead-times.  
* Ensure that all customer compliance needs are met.   Oversee large key account programs; including placement of orders, compliance and completing all required customer paperwork
* Prepare and review system reports to show all purchase order activity and ensure full compliance of purchasing activities (including cost sheets, POA, size variance reports, PO’s past ship date)
* Work closely with VP of Footwear to insure inventory is utilized per business plan 
* Work directly with Sourcing Center Manager when needed on delays and production issues to minimize the impact on the overall business 
* Ensure all freight bookings are approved by coordinators and meet confirmed ship dates and order need dates
* Develop seasonal development calendar. Drive self and partner departments to maintain schedule in order to develop quality product on time that meets design and business objectives. Notify management when delays jeopardize timely milestone achievements.
* Work with Sourcing, Customer Service and Distribution Center and Merchandising on obtaining seasonal scorecard.
* Receive costing worksheet, sample confirmation and factory information from SVP of Sourcing. .  
* Set-up styles and costing in system, confirm ship date.
* Receive priorities, objectives, and instruction from the Director of Purchasing
* Analyze projections to identify allocations, prioritize approvals, and understand delivery priorities.
* Schedule customs compliance team product review. Collaborate with Fila customs team validating all supporting documentation is accurate.
* Lead weekly WIP meetings and drive all items and milestones toward timely approval. Manage and maintain confirmation sample portion of WIP tracking charts. Review and evaluate confirmation samples in a timely manner, follow through to insure execution of corrections by agents/ factories. Identify gaps that could lead to delays and involve manager and production operations counterparts as soon as possible to work toward solutions.
* Provide required documentation, standards and samples to QA as foundation for audits in relation to confirmation samples.
* Manage transfer pack process and timeline and insure product/ quality match. Partner with overseas China office team.
* Communicate effectively with Distribution center, customer service, and other Fila departments.

Qualifications: 
* 7-9 years' experience in Production related area and in a footwear or garment manufacturing & sourcing environment.
* 3-5 years of managerial experience.
* College Degree Preferred.
* Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
* Proficient at Microsoft Office  - Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook
* Must be flexible and easily adaptable
* Excellent organizational skills and time management skills
* Ability to work independently and pay close attention to detail
* The ability to Multi-task and work under pressure
* Excellent math and calculation skills.
