			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Iconic Italian sportswear brand, Fila, has signed a new deal as the official tennis clothing and footwear partner of the 2009 Sony Ericsson Championships - Doha. Taking place in Qatar from October 27th – 1st November, the Championships is the year-end event for the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour. The top 8 singles players and top 4 doubles teams in the world compete over six days, with a prize fund totalling $4.55 million.</p>
<p>As official shoe and apparel partner, Fila has created a bespoke range for the event. Incorporating the tournament’s strong purple and green theme, the designs are based on Vintage pieces from the legendary Fila archive of the 70’s and 80’s. The collection will be seen on all court officials, ball crew and on site staff.</p>
<p>“Fila is a fantastic brand and we are thrilled that they will be the official tennis clothing and footwear partner of the Sony Ericsson Championships – 2009 in Doha,”  said Stacey Allaster, CEO of the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour.</p>

<p>Sparks, MD – In January 2009, Fila and James  Blake entered into a product collaboration to develop a co-branded apparel, footwear  and accessories collection with a trademark to be designed by James.  Fila’s design team and James joined forces to  create a collection that is inspired by James, his life and interests and  incorporates the heritage of the Fila brand with a contemporary twist inspired  by Blake’s signature style.</p>
<p>James  spent several months searching for the name for the brand for  the collection. In the end, he selected the name Thomas Reynolds,  which is the first and middle name of his father.  James often refers to his father as a  superhero and so it is not surprising that his  name was chosen for the  brand. After months of working with Fila’s design team, Fila and James Blake  will launch Thomas Reynolds at the 2009 US Open in New York.</p>
<p>According  to Blake, “I wanted to create a line with Fila because I have learned a lot  about tennis fashion throughout my career.  I felt that I could create a  line that is  functional and stylish both  on and off the court.  Collaborating with Fila and their long history in tennis and sportswear made  sense. It was the perfect fit!”</p>
<p>James  will debut the fall 2009 collection during his first match at the US Open. The  collection is branded with the Thomas  Reynolds R-dot logo and  the linear Fila logo.  The fall styles incorporate a campanula, peacoat (navy) and white color  combination. Campanula is inspired by James’ love of collegiate basketball and  his favorite team from North Carolina.  James wanted the line to include classic  tennis looks. The fall collection consists of two polos (raglan sleeve and open  placket), crew neck shirts (coolmax pique and tencel), shorts and warm-up. The  line has a distinct nod to Fila’s tennis heritage with pinstripe detailing on  one of the crew neck shirts, open placket and reversible collar on the polo, and  athletic taping on the shoulder of the raglan polo. The open placket polo and  solid crew neck incorporate the sustainable fabric, tencel. The warm up is a  more refined fleece and the inside of the hooded jacket reverses from navy to  campanula. The price points of the collection range from $45 - $65.</p>
<p>“I  wanted the line to be more transitional,” said Blake, “and include styles that  can be worn on-court, yet are stylish enough to wear for a night out.”</p>
<p>Fila’s  Chairman Gene Yoon said, “Fila is proud to have the opportunity to develop a  business venture with a top American tennis player whose personal style aligns  so well with the Fila brand.”</p>
<p>Fila and  James Blake will partner with Lord &amp; Taylor and <em>Tennis</em> magazine to  launch the collection just before the US Open. James will greet fans and sign  autographs in the Thomas Reynolds concept shop at Lord &amp; Taylor on Fifth Avenue on  Thursday, August 27th at 6pm. The VIP launch event to unveil the  line will feature DJ Sky Nellor and be held on the 11th floor Terrace  at Lord &amp; Taylor the same evening.</p>
<p>The Thomas Reynolds launch includes  a fully integrated marketing and public relations program. The multi-channel  marketing program integrates print and online advertising, an online contest,  retail promotions, athlete appearances and Thomas Reynolds concept shops.</p>
<p>Thomas  Reynolds will be carried at Lord &amp; Taylor, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Paragon  Sports, Mason’s Tennis Mart, Tenniswarehouse.com, fila.com and select specialty  retailers around the country.</p>
<p>The full  range of the Thomas Reynolds collection, including a full tennis, fitness,  lifestyle, golf and footwear line, will launch throughout the Spring Summer  2010 season.</p>

Clijsters will make her debut tonight at the Western &amp; Southern Financial Group Women&#8217;s Open in Cincinnati.</p>

class athletes slated to compete at the US Open at the Arthur Ashe National Tennis Center in New York<br />
beginning on August 31, 2009. The collection is inspired by Fila&#8217;s extensive archive of Italian designed<br />
product and features Fila&#8217;s iconic red, white and peacoat blue colors and cutting edge performance<br />
fabrications and cuts. Marin Cilic, Dmitry Tursunov, Anna Chakvetadze, Janko Tipsarevic, Agi Szavay and<br />
the other Fila players will wear the new collection for the Grand Slam tournament along with Fila’s Alfa<br />
performance tennis shoes, a modern complement to the classic style of the Heritage collection.</p>
<p>In a clear contrast to flashy contemporary lines, the Heritage collection will surely set Fila&#8217;s athletes apart<br />
as the company’s design team seeks once again, to pay homage to Fila’s great achievements in worldclass<br />
tournament play. Fila&#8217;s history as a leading innovator in tennis apparel that has been worn by some<br />
of the game’s greatest names over the last 35 years is an ever-present inspiration to Fila designers.<br />
Solids accented by bold, contrasting stripes dominate this year’s look with several pieces featuring flaglike<br />
diagonal stripes, which are a clear nod to Fila’s design cues from the early 70’s.</p>
<p>This season’s integrated collection for women has an old school appeal that combines classic Fila styles<br />
with performance design details like the Heritage Skort in white and peacoat, a new player’s skort that is<br />
now pull-up rather than wrap-around. Utilizing the excellent performance and draping qualities of Fila’s<br />
flat poly Spandex jersey material, the designs for tops offer a v-neck cap sleeve for a feminine covered<br />
shoulder look and two sleeveless cuts: an open racerback tank, and a sleeveless polo with narrow 5-snap<br />
placket - both with mesh inserts on the back for added venting. All three tops, in solid colors and contrast<br />
trim around the neck and arms, beautifully complement both skort colors. The white Heritage dress with<br />
wide, solid red shoulder straps and contrasting red/blue trim is drop waist. New emphasis has been put in<br />
the women’s Heritage warm-up jacket and pant with high knit collar and a pant waist that incorporates<br />
Fila’s Personal Performance flattering yoga pant designs.</p>
<p>The men’s Heritage collection in bold contrast colors offers six integrated pieces with three tops, a longer,<br />
elastic waist short in white and peacoat, and a cotton poly knit warm-up jacket and pant. The short<br />
sleeve polo with Fila’s signature printed window pane design and rounded drop tail is the highlight of the<br />
collection. There are also two short sleeve crew neck tops. One features bold red and peacoat blue trim<br />
on a white body and the other, a stripe insert short sleeve, features the flag-like diagonal stripes so<br />
tastefully integrated in the women’s line. The solid men’s pant in peacoat with white side seam trim and<br />
bottom leg zipper, is complemented by the bold red and peacoat jackets that have a truly eye catching<br />
Italian contrast knit taping design.</p>
<p>Adorned with the embroidered F-box Heritage patch logo to clearly define the special line, the 100%<br />
polyester and poly/cotton/spandex blended fabrics used in this season’s Heritage collection offer<br />
unsurpassed performance attributes to insure optimal comfort, ventilation and moisture wicking.</p>

<p>Sparks, MD &#8212; Fila USA announces the establishment of a new tree planting collaboration with AmericanForests.org, the nation&#8217;s oldest and most respected non-profit dedicated to funding and overseeing tree planting programs in the US and globally. Fila had been exploring partnerships with tree planting organizations in order to give back to the environment to compliment its Woman&#8217;s Personal Performance line (formerly Women&#8217;s Wellness). In keeping with Fila&#8217;s introduction and use of sustainable organic and recycled materials into their women&#8217;s performance fabrications, the company made a donation to AmericanForests.org&#8217;s general tree planting fund.</p>
<p>Fila signed an initial one-year commitment with AmericanForests.org. The Washington D.C. based non-profit was attractive to Fila due in part to its reputation for maximizing the number of trees planted per dollar donated by its sponsor partners.</p>
<p>Presently, the funds will be distributed evenly among AmericanForest.org&#8217;s US reforestation and urban tree planting programs, but Fila retains the right to designate specific regional programs as the company&#8217;s participation expands.</p>
<p>This partnership perfectly complements the brand&#8217;s use of sustainable and recycled fibers in the Woman&#8217;s Personal Performance collection such as soy, bamboo and recycled Polyester. Fila launched this effort in 2008 with the use of flexible, wicking fabrics ideal for personal performance disciplines like yoga and Pilates, while taking advantage of the unusually soft properties that add a new feminine dimension to the ever expanding personal performance apparel category.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Fila, the iconic Italian sportswear brand, is pleased to announce the opening of their first European flagship store on the renowned Corso Como, Milan.</p>
<p>The concept store, designed by Swedish Design agency Grow who have also produced Fila’s 2009 advertising campaign, will provide a distinctive and dynamic retail experience that reflects the renewed direction and positioning of this classic brand. Incorporating some of Fila’s most iconic design blueprints into three-dimensional design, the Corso Como store will be graphic, bold and will provide an expressive and experiential retail environment for the Fila consumer.</p>
<p>The Fila flagship will stock both the Fila Vintage and Fila Gold collections, in addition to the co-branded Fila-Wimbledon footwear collection –highlighting Fila’s design heritage and aesthetic direction.  Limited edition lines and exclusive product will also be retailed through the new flagship store.</p>
<p>Doors will open on this prestigious new development on 21st April 2009, with plans to open additional flagship stores in major cities across Fila markets in the future.</p>

<p>Sparks, MD - Fila announced today that it has entered into a  collaboration arrangement with ATP World Tour star James Blake to develop a  collection of men’s apparel and footwear.   The collection will incorporate the heritage of the Fila brand with a  contemporary twist inspired by Blake’s signature style.  He will collaborate with Fila’s design team  to create a co-branded collection.  The  yet to be named collection will target today’s active male and will be the  basis for the development of a long-term licensing business for Blake.</p>
<p>The  collection will include tennis, golf, fitness and lifestyle apparel,  performance and lifestyle footwear and accessories for men.  Fila and James Blake will also explore other  product categories as opportunities arise in the market. The collection will debut with a limited collection of  tennis and fitness apparel that will be unveiled just before the 2009 US Open  in New York.  The collection will officially launch for the  Spring Summer 2010 season.</p>
<p>James will wear  Fila branded or co-branded tennis apparel and footwear exclusively on court and  he will be featured in Fila’s worldwide marketing efforts. He is the first top  ten American male in over ten years to sign with Fila. James will debut in  Fila’s Collezione Apparel Collection and the Fila Alfa shoe at the Australian  Open in Melbourne.</p>

She is known across the Tour as a tenacious  player with a great double-handed backhand.</p>
