On February 28th, the reigning US Open and French Open champions will officially debut Fila’s Spring 2010 Center Court Collection as they play a “match before the match.” The Showdown Qualifiers will test their skills while wearing Fila’s latest collection when they play Ubisoft®’s, Racquet Sports, for the Wii™ system from Nintendo head to head on the 185” Gardenvision screen at Madison Square Garden.  The “match before the match” will be emceed by Scott Lasky of MSG Network. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">Children from the Garden of Dreams Foundation will attend the match and meet the tennis stars. The children will receive a special gift from Fila &amp; Ubisoft as well as tickets to the BNP Paribas Showdown the next evening.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt;"><span style="font-size: small; font-family: Times New Roman;">The “match” and subsequent athlete question and answer session will be broadcast live on <a href="http://www.fila.com">www.fila.com</a> or <a href="http://www.ustream.tv/filatv">http://www.ustream.tv/filatv</a> at 2:10pm on Sunday, February 28th.  Kim and Svetlana will be asked about the BNP Paribas Showdown, trading in their tennis racquets for Wii remotes and Fila’s latest performance tennis collection.</span></p>

Serena finished as World No. 1 followed by Kuzetsova at No. 3, Venus was No. 6 and Clijsters finished her comeback year at No. 18.</span></p>

Complementing Fila’s spring collection’s first delivery, which focuses on calming, organic inspired florals in rich greens, the Knee Pad Yoga Pant (in black only) provides much needed knee cushioning from regular contact with hard studio floor surfaces.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Tahoma;">Based upon feedback from core yoga practitioners and yoga/Pilates instructor Kristin McGee, Fila’s design team collaborated with McGee to integrate contact point specific padding into a pant with minimal change to the pant’s look, comfort and flexibility. Fila developed a low profile pad for the front of the knee made from 91% poly and 9% Spandex that offers significant cushioning across a wide range of poses.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family: Tahoma;">“The design concept was to effectively absorb knee impact without the pad being visible or causing any disruption to flexibility or performance,” stated Danny Lieberman, Fila’s Vice President of Apparel. “We didn’t want to draw attention to it, so a very light yet durable padding was integrated into the capri with minimal bulk.  Due to the popularity of our Personal Performance capri, this was the perfect silhouette to create this novel new pant from. The much needed cushioning technology represents a significant advancement that I think women will not be able to live without once they try it. It will definitely be a fresh addition to the yoga category.”</span></p>

<p>Kim, an accomplished twenty-six year old Belgian tennis star, has won 35 Sony Ericsson WTA Singles Titles and 11 WTA Doubles Titles so far in her career. After taking two years off to start a family, Kim made her return to professional tennis in August 2009. In just her third tournament after her return to tennis, she received a wildcard to the US Open and went on to make history in New York. She became the first unseeded player to win the US Open and the first mother to win any Grand Slam since Evonne Goolagong-Cauley in 1980. Kim returned to tennis with renewed enthusiasm for the game.  Her path to the US Open women’s singles final included tough matches against both Willams sisters as well as other top players on the WTA Tour.  <br />

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Iconic Italian sportswear brand, Fila, has signed a new deal as the official tennis clothing and footwear partner of the 2009 Sony Ericsson Championships - Doha. Taking place in Qatar from October 27th – 1st November, the Championships is the year-end event for the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour. The top 8 singles players and top 4 doubles teams in the world compete over six days, with a prize fund totalling $4.55 million.</p>
<p>As official shoe and apparel partner, Fila has created a bespoke range for the event. Incorporating the tournament’s strong purple and green theme, the designs are based on Vintage pieces from the legendary Fila archive of the 70’s and 80’s. The collection will be seen on all court officials, ball crew and on site staff.</p>

<p>Sparks, MD – In January 2009, Fila and James  Blake entered into a product collaboration to develop a co-branded apparel, footwear  and accessories collection with a trademark to be designed by James.  Fila’s design team and James joined forces to  create a collection that is inspired by James, his life and interests and  incorporates the heritage of the Fila brand with a contemporary twist inspired  by Blake’s signature style.</p>
<p>James  spent several months searching for the name for the brand for  the collection. In the end, he selected the name Thomas Reynolds,  which is the first and middle name of his father.  James often refers to his father as a  superhero and so it is not surprising that his  name was chosen for the  brand. After months of working with Fila’s design team, Fila and James Blake  will launch Thomas Reynolds at the 2009 US Open in New York.</p>
<p>According  to Blake, “I wanted to create a line with Fila because I have learned a lot  about tennis fashion throughout my career.  I felt that I could create a  line that is  functional and stylish both  on and off the court.  Collaborating with Fila and their long history in tennis and sportswear made  sense. It was the perfect fit!”</p>
<p>James  will debut the fall 2009 collection during his first match at the US Open. The  collection is branded with the Thomas  Reynolds R-dot logo and  the linear Fila logo.  The fall styles incorporate a campanula, peacoat (navy) and white color  combination. Campanula is inspired by James’ love of collegiate basketball and  his favorite team from North Carolina.  James wanted the line to include classic  tennis looks. The fall collection consists of two polos (raglan sleeve and open  placket), crew neck shirts (coolmax pique and tencel), shorts and warm-up. The  line has a distinct nod to Fila’s tennis heritage with pinstripe detailing on  one of the crew neck shirts, open placket and reversible collar on the polo, and  athletic taping on the shoulder of the raglan polo. The open placket polo and  solid crew neck incorporate the sustainable fabric, tencel. The warm up is a  more refined fleece and the inside of the hooded jacket reverses from navy to  campanula. The price points of the collection range from $45 - $65.</p>
<p>“I  wanted the line to be more transitional,” said Blake, “and include styles that  can be worn on-court, yet are stylish enough to wear for a night out.”</p>
<p>Fila’s  Chairman Gene Yoon said, “Fila is proud to have the opportunity to develop a  business venture with a top American tennis player whose personal style aligns  so well with the Fila brand.”</p>
<p>Fila and  James Blake will partner with Lord &amp; Taylor and <em>Tennis</em> magazine to  launch the collection just before the US Open. James will greet fans and sign  autographs in the Thomas Reynolds concept shop at Lord &amp; Taylor on Fifth Avenue on  Thursday, August 27th at 6pm. The VIP launch event to unveil the  line will feature DJ Sky Nellor and be held on the 11th floor Terrace  at Lord &amp; Taylor the same evening.</p>
<p>The Thomas Reynolds launch includes  a fully integrated marketing and public relations program. The multi-channel  marketing program integrates print and online advertising, an online contest,  retail promotions, athlete appearances and Thomas Reynolds concept shops.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For the second consecutive year, Iconic Italian sportswear brand, Fila is the Official Clothing and Footwear Supplier of the prestigious AEGON Championships (formerly known as The Artois Championships).</p>
<p>The sensational event is hosted at Queens Club, London (8th June – 14th June) and marks the start of the grass court season, with a line up that includes many of the world’s best players.</p>
<p>Fila will provide custom products for all event staff as well as offering a range of Official Event Merchandise.  This major event in the grass calendar will feature some of Fila’s top endorsed players*.</p>
<p>Following on from The AEGON Championships, Fila will continue as the Official Partner of The BNP Paribas Fortis Tennis Classic, hosted at the exclusive Hurlingham Club, London (16th June – 20th June).</p>
<p>Wimbledon will see the climax of the grass court season and Fila will once again supply footwear to The Championships, as part of the Official Wimbledon footwear licensee agreement. Fila have produced a new range of dual branded performance tennis and lifestyle footwear styles, which will be sold at the event and in selected stores across the EMEA region.</p>
